Can someone else receive my tax refund?
You can direct your refund to any of your checking or savings accounts; you cannot direct your refund to someone else’s account (except for your spouse’s account, if this is a joint refund).
Can IRS refund be deposited into someone else’s account?
While there are no IRS rules that specifically forbid you from depositing your refund into someone else’s account, we don’t recommend it. Most banks have fraud-prevention measures that won’t allow a direct deposit into an account bearing a different name.
