How do you calculate GST in a restaurant?

GST Calculation Formula:

  1. Add GST: GST Amount = (Original Cost x GST%)/100. Net Price = Original Cost + GST Amount.
  2. Remove GST: GST Amount = Original Cost – [Original Cost x {100/(100+GST%)}] Net Price = Original Cost – GST Amount.

Is GST charged on restaurant food?

Do you pay GST on milk?

Most processed milk beverages are GST-free, provided they are not flavoured. They can be supplied GST-free in liquid, powdered, concentrated or condensed forms. Processed milk beverage products also covers buttermilk, casein, whey and lactose.

Is GST applicable on eggs?

Food items: There is no GST on fresh or pasteurized milk, butter milk, curd, chena or paneer, and non-vegetarian items like eggs, chicken, fresh meat, and fresh or chilled fish. Fruits, vegetables, as well as unit container-packed frozen branded vegetables (uncooked or steamed) are also exempt.
